Three sisters named Justina, Karolina and Uršulė lived inside it, after whose names, it is believed, the surrounding places of Justiniškės and Viršuliškės were named after.
Equally important is the lavish, leafy side of Karoliniškės, featuring a 162 ha landscape reserve, which boasts a collection of rare species of plants and a variety of pedestrian paths of different lengths and complexity, such as Raguva bottom, Ridge ridges, River valley, Forest edge and Baldone hill.
